And another friendly hi-def hello to our fellow blu-ray geeks. Welcome to the weekly look at our most wanted titles coming to blu-ray and/or 4K Ultra HD for the week of November 12, 2019.
The biggest noise in the world of hi-def is coming from one of the tiniest films called The Peanut Butter Falcon which stars Shia LaBeouf, Dakota Johnson, and Zack Gottsagen. Lionsgate is giving the film a nice little blu-ray + digital edition that comes with a making-of-featurette, an image gallery and a trailer. This is one of our favorite films of the year thus far.
Another film coming to home video this week is the coming-of-age comedy film Good Boys which is getting a blu-ray + DVD + Digital HD edition from Universal Pictures. Included on the disc is a wealth of extra features and bonus material including an alternate ending.
Shout Factory is stepping up this week with its Collector's Edition handling of a much-anticipated catalog title. Richard Franklin's thriller, Road Games starring Stacy Keach and Jamie Lee Curtis is coming to blu-ray with a Collector's Edition that includes new interviews, and new audio commentary, a new script read, and a music demo by Queen's Brian May that is accompany by stills and a poster gallery.
One of our most anticipated releases this week is Kino Lorber's 4K remaster of Clint Eastwood's crime comedy Thunderbolt and Lightfoot. No new bonus materials, however coming from Kino, we can rest assured that the film has never looked better. {googleads}
Also getting a restoration is the 1939 horror serial The Phantom Creeps, while the 1988 dark comedy Heathers is getting a 30th anniversary steelbook edition from RLJ Entertainment.
Also getting our attention this week are releases of The Far Country from Arrow, and 47 Meter Down: Uncaged from Lionsgate.
