If you are a big fan of 4K Ultra HD, you'll find this week's releases a bit disappointing with only a couple of titles getting the 4K treatment. But one of those is a biggie in the form of the 4K Ultra HD Sing-Along Edition of Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again on 4K Ultra HD, blu-ray and digital. Universal has given the royal treatment to the Mamma Mia! sequel and it includes a ton of special features, bonus material, enhanced sing-alongs, deleted scenes, and more. The studio has also put out a 2-movie edition witch includes both the original and its sequel.
Though we don't count ourselves among fans, it is important to point out that Lionsgate and Summit are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the release of Twilight with a 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital Copy edition of the film. Reports also say that a blu-ray release of all five films in the Twilight series is coming that will feature collectible artwork.
That's about it as far as Ultra HD releases go, but a couple of films hitting blu-ray for the first time have us excited this week. The Boots Riley comedy called Sorry to Bother You is getting a blu-ray + DVD + Digital edition with a handful of special features. In addition, the possession thriller The Devil's Doorway finds itself on blu-ray this week with a nifty little release.
A couple of horror titles get some love with the Scream Factory Special Edition release of Creepshow and Lionsgate/Vestron's release of Maximum Overdrive which gets a very cool Collector's Edition blu-ray with a couple of new commentaries, and a ton of new featurettes. {googleads}
Universal is also getting on the action with a Blu-ray + DVD + Digital release of Don Michael Paul's Scorpion King: Book of Souls while Sony Pictures is making available an uncut release of 2013's Evil Dead on blu-ray that contains both the theatrical and unrated versions of the film in addition that includes commentaries, behind-the-scenes features and many other featurettes.
Shout factory is also putting out a collector's Edition of the Barry Sonnenfeld classic comedy Get Shorty while Mill Creek Entertainment will release Community: The Complete Series on blu-ray this week. Also coming out this week on blu-ray are the Criterion release of the 1972 classic Sisters with interviews, a poster gallery an illustrated booklet, and the Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Disney release of Celebrating Mickey which features 13 of the Mickey Mouse shorts for his 90th anniversary.
