“Goddamn. I feel like a crime is about to be committed.” With those words, Bat Pussy leaps to action, changing out of her loose nightgown (after it gets caught on her neck) and into cape and cowl. Hurray for the single take flicks out there! She’s ready – at least her super sensitive vajayjay informs her that she is – for a lot of hot action in her very own mispronounced “Goth-um” City. But first she will have to stop and pee on her long trip – by a bouncy ball – to the big city.

Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na. Bat Pussy! Bat Pussy might be AGFA and Something Weird's greatest release yet.

Five minutes into this pornographic gem and, already, I am dying with laughter. Hell, if watching this z-grade porn parody is how I die, gasping for air through all the bouts of paralyzing laughter, then I guess that’s fine with me. At least I can say that I saw one of the strangest flicks to ever grace the not-so silver screen. I might not survive it, but I saw Bat Pussy!

No one knows much about this movie. The actors have yet to come forward. And the director - who might be a theater owner of adult entertainment - is certainly nowhere to be found. With no title card, announcing its arrival, this parody simply exists. It’s a lunatic parody of Batman, the Adam West-led television series that ran from 1966 to 1968, and clocks in at a very quick 50 minutes. It is also very, very terrible in that way that makes it supremely unforgettable.

Truthfully, Something Weird Video, when they originally released this movie on DVD in 1996, did us all a huge favor with their $1000 purchase of a bunch of 16mm films. There is NOTHING like this skin flick. With no penetration – because the lead actor can’t get it up – and absolutely no attractive person included in this three-person cast, it is a wonder this porno exists at all. All this flick has is its whacked-out humor as Bat Pussy, sensing that someone is about "shoot a fuck movie" in her "holy Goth-um City" without her, leaps into action.

American Genre Film Archive presents Bat Pussy on 1080p for the very first (and probably only) time. It is worth it alone to see the character of Bat Pussy beat the hell out of some dude with her red bouncy ball after he puts the move on a woman in the park. With no actors credited and no director announced, Bat Pussy exists in the nether regions of exploitative films and I’m pretty sure it is going to remain that way.

Dora Dildo is Bat Pussy. And she, not wanting to be left out of ANY camera captured sex act, means business. She’s unlike any crime fighter before her or since. Her long southern drawl is thicker than three slices of stacked Texas Toast together on the same plate and, as she slips into sweats and a hoodie with her cheaply-made emblem upon it, will soon be bouncing uphill on a kids inflatable hopper ball with handles to stop a poorly-made adult film from being made.

Buddy, who has an Arkansas Razorbacks tattoo on his ass (thank you 2K scan!), and the very freckled Sam, who obviously JUST had her hair done up in a beehive style, are having problems in their relationship. She’s been whoring it up on a street corner to make ends meet and Buddy, reading SCREW magazine on a rare night home, is frustrated by their lot in life. All they do is argue.

Well, tonight, with the boom mic visible, is the chance to make magic happen, if they can shut up long enough to get aroused. What follows is an obvious scene of EXTENDED improvisation as they fool around and continually insult each other. With little direction from the dude behind the camera (just audible burps), it gets really weird rather quickly while they attempt to (maybe) turn each other on. We get arguing, mixed with bouts of fingering and fellatio, all the while, there’s Buddy’s perfectly flaccid penis. That is, until Bat Pussy arrives, and then one of the most ridiculous threesomes ever filmed plays out. It’s hilariously clumsy, totally unsexy, and, full of condescending pillow talk, abruptly ends when Bat Pussy – who Buddy calls Bat Woman over and over again – suddenly stands up, grabs her cape and cowl, and walks out.

End of movie. End of story. End of Bat Pussy as she makes her escape from all the poorly worded lines like, “my horoscope says I’m going to fuck you in the nose”. It’s hilariously sudden and, with Buddy’s member still limp as a wet noodle, probably very much deserved. Bat Pussy doesn’t need such disappointment in her life. She’s got a Hoppity Hop for Christ’s sake!

Grab the gym shorts, babe! Get yourself a pair of green tights and a makeshift Batman cowl. All we need is the Hoppity Hop and a serious round of squat exercises to make Halloween next year something special. Bat Pussy finds her way back onto the streets of her Goth-um City thanks to those “dirty motherfuckers” over at Something Weird Video and AFGA.

Bat Pussy is not to be missed.

Bat Pussy is much deserving of its 2K scrub. It may be the first pornographic parody that we have. The banged around 16mm print is scratched and problematic but, as it is the ONLY print of the movie, the digital transfer is much appreciated, even if it can’t save the flick from all the scratches (or the poorly acted scenes of libido killing sex). From the bedroom to Bat Pussy's Secret Warehouse Hideout, this film was shot during daylight. The high grain – especially in the hilariously awful scene of Bat Pussy moving slowly on the highway – is to be expected. It is presented in the film’s original aspect ratio of 1.33:1 and features a DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 soundtrack for all of your dialogue listening needs.

Thankfully, Lisa Petrucci and Tim Lewis of Something Weird! talk about how the copy of Bat Pussy came into their hands. They also, alongside some folks from AGFA, talk about the film and what little is known about it. What we do get is that MAYBE it was originally filmed in Arkansas.

Special Features:

As if owning Bat Pussy on blu-ray wasn’t enough for some viewers, AGFA gives us another awesomely titled soft core film, Robot Love Slaves, to sink our teeth and eyes into, as well as crime-smut trailers, and cinematic shorts about shoplifters. We also get sound dating advice, a message from the theater urging men to put their dicks back in their pants, and a pre-movie announcement about pornographic films. All in all, the package makes for an interesting night of seedy entertainment. You can’t lose with this dynamic package!
