The Blackwell Ghost 6

Damn.  Turner Clay has done it again.

Filmmaker-turned-ghost-hunter Turner Clay (The Phoenix Tapes '97) has developed quite the rabid following with his Blackwell Ghost series.  And for damn good reason, too.  His latest offering, only streaming on Amazon Prime, continues The Blackwell Ghost series and leaves fans of his paranormal investigations wanting more.

"goes for the jugular with a gut-wrenching narrative"

That’s right, after what seemed like a long wait, The Blackwell Ghost 6 is upon us.  The result is as we expect: simple, but damned gripping as Clay goes for the jugular with a gut-wrenching narrative.

The synopsis is pretty short.  Essentially, Turner - while recovering from a tragedy which will rock your socks right off - attempts to capture paranormal events on camera IN HIS HOME, all while trying to protect his children from the ghost that now haunts their house.  With so much going on, who is it?!

This sets the stage for a mystery that doesn’t feel complete - at least in my gut - as I suspect there is something more to this haunting than what he comes up with.  And it begins with a strange package left on his doorstep one late night . . .

. . . or does it?

While The Blackwell Ghost 6 feels way too short and will leave some people, expecting answers from the questions in the fifth installment, a bit disappointed, the latest entry in the series does exactly what it needs to and then gets the hell out, leaving us a mountain of emotions to deal with involving what has happened to his family since the completion of the last film. The Blackwell Ghost 6

Truthfully, this one hits you IN THE FEELS and never stops punching that massive lump in your throat.  There’s a lot to love about it; however, his answers to the haunting feel a bit misguided this time.  There’s more to this than what he is presently telling his audience, which is why this one feels incomplete.  It's good.  Yes, it's damned good, but his conclusions are - based on what happens - a bit too easy.

To me, The Blackwell Ghost 6 feels more like a necessary stop-gap between #5 and what comes next in the series, presuming it continues, which it probably will.  Clay, as a filmmaker, is absolutely no dummy.  He knows his bread and butter and his fans - some of who still believe this to be real (and why not?!) - want more and more and more from his ongoing investigations into the Lightfoot house.

First off, The Blackwell Ghost 6 series are - and this is my opinion based on my own research into the series and what can or cannot be found online - completely fictional.  That doesn’t mean that these documentaries aren’t entertaining.  Hell, no one - and I do mean NO ONE - does found footage terror like Clay.  He is a master at putting mysteries down, providing evidence, and scaring the shit out of his audience.  For adrenaline junkies, these horror movies are perfect entertainment as they really get your nerves working overtime and, who knows, maybe I am wrong to consider them fictional.  It doesn't matter anyway.

One would think, after presenting evidence after evidence of paranormal occurrences with both the Blackwell and the Lightfoot house, fans would be satisfied.  That just is not the case as Clay, who knows how to pull off the found footage successfully, is already facing demands from fans who are thirsty for the next one.  How long we all wait, though, is completely in the hands of an absolute master of independent horror by way of the found footage phenomenon.

The Blackwell Ghost 6 is now streaming only on Amazon Prime.
