Aquaman


DC's underwater action film, Aquaman, stayed afloat at the top of the box office over the post-Christmas holiday weekend as the film brought in an additional $51.5 million to bring its total to over $188 million to best Disney's Mary Poppins Returns which stayed in second place with a $28 million take. {googleads}

The next three spots remained unchanged from last week with the Transformers semi-reboot Bumblebee remaining in the third slot with $20 million over the weekend while Marvel's Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse held onto fourth place by adding another $18 million to its total. Clint Eastwood's drug drama The Mule, rounded out the top five with an $11.8 million take to bring its total to nearly $61 million.

The next two spots were held by a couple of films making their debuts with Adam McKay's Dick Cheney biopic Vice bring in just under $8 million while the Will Ferrel John C. Reilly comedy Holmes and Watson debuted at number seven with just over $7 million.Mary Poppins Returns

Jennifer Lawrence's female empowerment comedy Second Act dropped one slot to finish in eighth with a $7.2 million take which brings its two week total to $21 million.

Rounding out the top ten were the family comedy Ralph Breaks the Internet which made an additional $6.5 million followed by the Dr. Suess's The Grinch which ups its total to more than $265 million with a $4.2 million weekend.
