Dinner parties are supposed to bring people closer together. In The Invite, they might just destroy everything instead.
A24 has released the trailer and poster for The Invite, the sharp new comedy directed by Olivia Wilde and written by Will McCormack and Rashida Jones. Starring Seth Rogen, Olivia Wilde, Penélope Cruz, and Edward Norton, the film looks like the perfect mix of relationship chaos, uncomfortable laughs, and simmering tension ready to boil over at any second.
The story follows Joe and Angela, a married couple desperately trying to reconnect while their relationship hangs by a thread. But when they invite their mysterious upstairs neighbors over for dinner, the evening spirals into wildly unexpected territory. Whether the night saves their marriage or completely burns it down remains to be seen.
With a cast this good and A24 backing the madness, The Invite already looks like one of summer’s most entertaining comedies.

The Invite opens in select theaters June 26 before expanding everywhere in July.
