Adalynn (2023)

They call them baby blues and Adalynn (Sydney Carvill) has them bad.  This postpartum depression has her falling right over the edge of sanity in director Jacob ‘Jake’ Byrd’s visually stirring horror film, Adalynn

Hypnotic in its roll-out, the horror film takes a very topical theme and twists it into one hell of a twist as a new mother wrestles with some pretty heinous inner demons.  Yet, how much of it is in her mind?  And how long until it absolutely explodes under the weight of reality?

"a slow burn of madness"

Releasing on digital platforms and DVD later this month from Summer Hill Films, LLC, Byrd’s debut, which is guided by Adalynn’s narration, is a slow burn of madness, as it becomes hard to distinguish between fact and fantasy in her depressed mind.  Haunted by nightmares and a stalker outside the home which may or may not be real, Adalynn is having a Rosemary’s Baby all on her own . . .

. . . and none of it feels normal.  From Satanic imagery to the occult-like atmosphere, Adalynn occupies the blurred lines between horror, fantasy, and the supernatural.

Written by Jerrod D.Britto (13 Slays Till X-Mas, The Grass is Always Greener) and featuring a stellar performance from Sydney Carvill (Keep in the Dark) in the title role, Adalynn is a low budget horror fantasy like few others as it creates a believable space inside a disturbed mind as one new mother is forced to deal with new stresses, bizarre mood changes, and an absentee father.Adalynn (2023)

Things go dark pretty quick and they don’t let up either as its unsettling mood can lead to only one conclusion.

Also starring Wade Baker (Division 19) and Janet Carter (Revenge for My Mother), the film is produced by Malati ‘Mala’ Patil & Jake Byrd and co-produced by filmmaking veteran Straw Weisman.  Already winning awards during its festival premiere, the film will be available in North America on VOD from Amazon, YouTube Movies, Microsoft Movies, Google Play, and Vudu. It will also be available on Amazon UK and internationally licensed through Summer Hill Entertainment.

Adalynn and her demons will be released on March 28.
