And another friendly hi-def hello to our fellow blu-ray geeks. Welcome to the weekly look at our most wanted titles coming to blu-ray and/or 4K Ultra HD for the week of April 30, 2019.

It's a rather light offering this week with regards to new films making their home video debuts. We only have two new films on our list of most wanted this week and neither of those is getting a 4K release.

But it is Vinegar Syndrome making the biggest splash with four catalog titles rocking the trash and schlock meter while Shout Factory puts their signature treatment to a classic creature feature and a '90s Christian Slater action/comedy. A couple of new films, a Criterion digipak, and a 4K release from Kino Lorber round out our list of Most Wanted this week. {googleads}

Our List of Most Wanted Blu-rays is topped this week by Criterion's Digipak double-feature edition of the Jackie Chan classics Police Story and Police Story 2 which get 4K restorations and tons of new and old extra features like interviews, alternate audio tracks, and featurettes. We're getting ready for jaws to drop and fists to fly with this release.

Vinegar Syndrome has lovingly restored the Spanish language thriller The Corruption of Chris Miller and packaged it in a blu-ray + DVD edition that features a 4K restoration from the original camera negative and a handful of existing interviews, alternate endings a short featurette and more.

The company is also releasing a blu-ray + DVD edition of 1989's Grandmother's House which features a brand new 4K restoration from the original camera negative and the gothic horror film Skin Flicks, which features a brand new 2K restoration.Tarantula

20th Century Fox is giving us a 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital Copy of X-Men: Beginnings Trilogy and Shout Factory is putting out on blu-ray a brand new 2K remaster of 1955's Tarantula that will come with a new audio commentary from film historians Tom Weaver, Dr. Robert J. Kiss and David Schecter.

Meanwhile Sony is is hitting us with a blu-ray + Digital HD release of its action thriller Miss Bala which is directed by Catherine Hardwicke and stars Gina Rodriguez. There is no 4K Ultra HD however.

And lastly, Severin gets our attention this week with their release of the Italian prison sexploitation film Escape From Women's Prison which will include the Le Evase: Italian cut of the film and an interview with director Giovanni Brusadori.
