Miranda Veil

Well, well, well, what do we have here?!  Solid gold, that's what!

Miranda Veil, a unique slice of horror/fantasy by way of an unassuming character study, arrives and brings with it a reckoning of cult-like creativity that MUST be recognized by all those hellbent on howling at the moon.  This is a film that meets your expectations and then continually challenges them throughout its running time thanks to its solid screenplay, great acting, and a visual flair that is both intriguing and spellbinding.

"From lethal injections to everything in between, Miranda Veil is an independent feature like few others!"

All of this is what happens when a would-be serial killer discovers that his first victim just can’t be killed!  Miranda Veil is a strange journey you never knew you needed to go on, but it yields a wonderfully on-point reward as two perfectly ill-matched strangers become intertwined in a mystery of mortality and discover a truth between them.

Get ready to laugh and cry with Miranda Veil!

Written and directed by Levin Garbisch, Miranda Veil opens with an intriguing set-up as a budding serial killer, Soren (Zach Steffy), discovers that he can’t psychically kill Miranda (Annabel Barrett).  Soren is the one in control . . . or so he thinks.  He’s chosen his victim - thanks to a series of midnight chance meeting discussions - and is ready to torture her until she just can’t take it, but he can’t seem to shake the weird feeling he has concerning her.

Is she faking her pain?  Because something just isn’t setting right with him in her responses to his brutality.  Stuck in the desert outside of Barstow, California, the sun-blasted location only adds to the rich atmosphere as Soren discovers that he’s actually not in control . . . at all.  And that's only part of his journey.Miranda Veil

Complete with a growling voice deep within his skull, Soren is pushed to extremes as both he and Miranda learn that she can’t be killed.  Oh, they try.  Whether it be by knife or an axe slammed into her skull, Miranda just keeps getting back up.

Start panicking now!  That’s right!  It’s a surprise to her, too!

Suddenly, Miranda and Soren are trying to come up with an explanation concerning her resiliency.  He offers to rape her.  She consents to it, so - defeating the purpose of his plans - the movie continues in this hilarious pattern of solid rapport as both characters try their best to explain what cannot be easily understood.

From lethal injections to everything in between, Miranda Veil is an independent feature like few others!  It will have you in stitches before getting you to actually tear up as Soren and Miranda’s journey together has them confronting a guy in a giant rabbit costume in a random convenience store, listening to his story, and then trekking on down the road in a comic misadventure for the ages.

Every once in a great while, an independent feature film comes along and blows the mind of its audience.  Miranda Veil is that ticket to punch this year.  Give WEIRD a chance.
