Paramount Pictures followed last November's short teaser with a spot during the Super Bowl, and now they intend to scare our pants off with the first full feature trailer for A Quiet Place ... just in time for Valentine's Day.
The film is directed by John Krasinski who also co-writes the screenplay as well as stars in the film as the patriarch of a family living in a creepy cabin in the woods.The family of four is being forced to live in total silence lest the unseen mysterious creatures that hunt by sound eat them alive. Because, as we're told, if they hear you, they hunt you.
Survivors of whatever devastating event seems to have wiped out much of Earth's population have learned to live by one rule; never make a sound. But, apparently no one ever told the young child of the family this, as we see him turn on a noisy toy that most assuredly draws the ire of whatever those creatures out there are. Speaking of which, we never really get a good look at what exactly the family is hiding from, other than a spindly claw-like hand that makes an appearance near the end of the trailer. Oh, and there's those gnarly claw marks on the walls to remind everyone to remain silent.
A Quiet Place actually looks quite promising as it appears to combine the "cabin in the woods" and "post-apocalyptic thriller" genres. We'll find out later this Spring.

A Quiet Place has not yet been rated but let's all hope for an R. A Quiet Place will scare its way into theaters this Spring on April 6th.
