The Prodigy - New Movie Trailer

Orange is the New Black fans will undoubtedly be excited to see that Taylor Schilling, who plays the lead character Piper Chapman on the show, is getting a horror film to call all her own in the form of The Prodigy, in which she plays a mother whose son becomes possessed by an evil entity.
The film comes from Orion Pictures and has plenty of horror heavyweights behind its production including producers from The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Midnight Meat Train, The Rite, and others. They've just release the first trailer for their new film The Prodigy and you can watch it below. There is also a creepy new poster for the film which we have included as well.
The Prodigy marks the introduction into the horror genre for the Emmy and Golden Globe nominated Schilling who plays white collar criminal Piper Chapman, who is serving time in a minimum-security federal prison in the Netflix original series Orange is the New Black.
In The Prodigy she is Sarah whose son has been showing some disturbing behavior of late, leading her to believe that something or some ONE has taken over his body. In the trailer we see Miles under the treatment of a hypnotist who is hoping to speak with the person who has taken up residence inside the young boy's body. {googleads}
The film is directed by At the Devil's Door filmmaker Nicholas McCarthy who works from a script by Jacob's Ladder screenwriter Jeff Buhler. The film also stars Jackson Robert Scott, as the long son Miles, who most will recognize as Georgie from last year's IT horror adaptation. Peter Mooney (Burden of Truth), and Colm Feore (Thor) also star.
The Prodigy will open next year on February 8, 2019, but just to help get you into the mood of the season, Orion has released the first teaser trailer just before Halloween. Check it out!
