Godzilla: King of the Monsters - Movie Trailer

The first full-length trailer for Warner Bros.' Godzilla: King of the Monsters just stomped its way into San Diego Comic Con... and we have it for you below.

The film is the follow up to Gareth Edwards' monster thriller Godzilla which hit big screens back in 2014 to rousing critical and box office success.

What was initially thought to be a stand-alone revisit to the king of the monsters turned out to be anything but that when it was revealed in a post-King Kong: Scull Island credit sequence that Godzilla was but one piece of an entire upcoming Godzilla/monster cinematic universe.{googleads}

The film is directed by Michael Dougherty (Krampus; X-Men: Apocalypse) and stars Stranger Things' Milli Bobby Brown, Vera Farming, Bradley Whitford, and Kyle Chandler. Dougherty will work from a script he co-writes with Max Borenstein.

In the trailer we get glimpses of three of Godzilla's biggest enemies in the insect-winged Mothra, mighty pterodactyl Rodan, and the three-headed King Ghidora.

The trailer is actually quite beautiful and hints at an impending battle for supremacy in the monster world between Godzilla and his arch-enemies. In a Comic-Con interview, Dougherty hints that Rodan will be much more than a sidekick and may even be more powerful than Godzilla himself.

Hmmm. Sounds exciting, and this certainly has our monster pants going crazy, but there is slight reservation that this monster kingdom could be taken down by the same thing that befell Spiderman 3; too many villains. Hopefully we're wrong, but in the meantime we can continue to geek out over the footage which you can see below.
