The Raid: Redemption - Movie trailerAction junkies, gather 'round! There's something coming you need to hear about. It's a movie called The Raid: Redemption that became an instant hit on opening night of last year's Toronto International Film Festival and was carried over into this year's Sundance Film Festival. And we havemu the trailer below.

Though its premise is actually quite simple, it promises to be one hell of a sweet action ride through a barrage of martial arts action, video game-like shooting, and a virtual onslaught of impressive weaponry and hand-to-hand combat.

The film comes from Indonesia and is directed by Gareth Evans whose story takes place in a drug lord-controlled 30-story high rise about to be invaded by a police raid. But as the police invasion gets underway, things immediately turn to mayhem as they quickly discover that the building has been rigged with an elaborate series of nasty surprises. Gun play, martial arts fighting, and plenty of epic battle sequences ensue as the raid continues to spiral out of control.

You can watch the trailer below for The Raid: Redemption which was renamed and given the Redemption part for its American release. It is set to slam theaters on March 23 of this year.

Here's the official synopsis for The Raid: Redemption. Deep in the heart of Jakarta's slums lies an impenetrable safe house for the world's most dangerous killers and gangsters. Until now, the run-down apartment block has been considered untouchable to even the bravest of police. Cloaked under the cover of pre-dawn darkness and silence, an elite swat team is tasked with raiding the safe house in order to take down the notorious drug lord that runs it. But when a chance encounter with a spotter blows their cover and news of their assault reaches the drug lord, the building's lights are cut and all the exits blocked. Stranded on the sixth floor with no way out, the unit must fight their way through the city's worst to survive their mission. Starring Indonesian martial arts sensation Iko Uwais.
