Arthur Trailer - Russel BrandWarner Bros just released another trailer for the Russell Brand remake of Dudley Moore's hilarious 1981 comedy, Arthur. What we see still does nothing to change our opinion that this thing didn't need a remake in the first place (remake bad films, not good ones) and is destined for flopdom as it appears they've neutered the main hook of the story that made Moore's version so endearing by changing Arthur's character from a drunken babbling man-child to just a man-child.

Let's make no mistake about it. 1981's Arthur worked for one reason: a soused Dudley Moore. Take away his martini and we're not sure Dudley Moore could have pulled it off. It was a drunken Moore that worked and It appears Russell Brand is going to have to make a go of it without a drink. Good luck.

The film stars Russell Brand; Helen Mirren; Jennifer Garner; Greta Gerwig. Irresponsible charmer Arthur Bach (Russell Brand) has always relied on two things to get by: his limitless fortune and the good sense of lifelong nanny Hobson (Helen Mirren) to keep him out of trouble. Now he faces his biggest challenge--choosing between an arranged marriage that will ensure his lavish lifestyle or an uncertain future with the one thing money can't buy, Naomi (Greta Gerwig), the only woman he has ever loved. With Naomi's inspiration and some unconventional help from Hobson, Arthur will take the most expensive risk of his life and finally learn what it means to become a man, in this re-imagining of the classic romantic comedy Arthur.
