BACKROOMS (2026)

Horror fans, it’s time to go back to where you were never meant to be.

A24 has unveiled the first teaser trailer and poster for Backrooms, the highly anticipated feature film from Kane Parsons — the creator whose original viral upload redefined online horror for a new generation. What began as an internet phenomenon now arrives on the big screen, expanding the unsettling mythology that captured millions.

"A series of disturbing home videos captures supernatural events that terrorize their witnesses."

Starring Academy Award nominees Chiwetel Ejiofor and Renate Reinsve, and written by Will Soodik, Backrooms promises a chilling descent into liminal terror.

The premise is deceptively simple: A strange doorway appears in the basement of a furniture showroom. But as the teaser makes hauntingly clear, some doors aren’t meant to be opened.

With its unnerving atmosphere and minimalist dread, the film leans into its tagline: You are not supposed to be here.

Watch the first teaser now and study the poster closely—just don’t linger too long.

Backrooms opens in theaters everywhere May 29.
