The Loch Ness Horror

If nautical nonsense is something you wish . . . then hop on board The Loch Ness Horror when it surfaces this week!  Because Nessie is baaaack.

You read that correctly, Horror Hounds.  We are finally getting a new Loch Ness movie.  About time, too.  It feels like the last one has been ages ago.  By my count, 2017’s family friendly offering from director Jim Wynorski, Nessie & Me, was the last one . . . and do we really count that one?!?!

"CGI gut-busting, low budget affair, but that doesn’t make it any less thrilling"

Well, here we are, and filmmaker Tyler James’ action-packed horror movie doesn’t disappoint.  Sure, sure, it’s largely a CGI gut-busting, low budget affair, but that doesn’t make it any less thrilling - read as FUN - as a rescue mission for a missing submarine goes off the rails thanks to an unexpected discovery of something lurking in the deep, dark sea.

And this sucker has teeth!

Picked up by Uncork’d Entertainment for a digital release on November 7th, The Loch Ness Horror has fun with its main premise and presents Nessie as a frustrated monster who is just done with humans and all their bothersome behaviors.  Truly, you need a sense of humor coming into this one because, as imagined by  writer-director Tyler-James, Nessie just wants to not be bothered in the North Sea.

That’s right. Nessie wants her “FREEDOM!!!”The Loch Ness Horror

While goofy from the get-go, The Loch Ness Horror is also non-stop fun. I mean, we always think of Nessie as passive, but here - thanks to its combination of Meg-like terror - this beastie has fun swiping the crew right off the deck and chomping them to bits in the current.

Believable?  Nope.  But it’s wild entertainment which - as it opens with the downing of the sub thanks to this creature - never rests on its laurels as an attractive skeleton crew of goodies and baddies makes all sorts of waves as their rescue mission goes tits up.

Starring  Becca Hirani, May Kelly, Beatrice Fletcher, Tara MacGowran, Lila Lasso, and a goo spitting monster from the deep, The Loch Ness Horror should not be confused with a similarly titled film from 1981.  No, this wild ride is all its own; nonsensical plot points, warts, and all.

Time to get wet!  The Loch Ness Monster will release on Digital and DVD November 7.
