For Love and Honey (2025)

Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!  If you’re in the mood for sunshine, swooning, and a healthy dose of Hallmark sweetness, For Love & Honey might just buzz its way onto your watch list.

Released in 2024 as part of Hallmark’s “Passport to Love” lineup, the film follows archaeologist Eva (Margaret Clunie) and local beekeeper Austen (Andrew W. Walker) as they cross paths on the beautiful island of Malta. Directed by Hallmark favorite Kevin Fair, the movie promises romance, mystery, and — yes — a surprising amount of screen time devoted to bees.

"like a cozy cup of tea with a drizzle of honey: pleasant, soothing, and just sweet enough"

We need to pause and appreciate that setting, because honestly? Malta is carrying this thing on its back. Sun‑washed stone lanes glow with that warm, honey‑gold light that makes every corner feel inviting, and it is present here throughout the brilliantly-lit movie. The water nearby sparkles in shifting shades of blue, catching the sun like it’s showing off. Together with those charming seaside vistas, the whole place feels like you’ve stepped into a tiny, perfectly contained vacation of your own.

Even if the story feels familiar, the location keeps things fresh and dreamy. You’ll probably find yourself Googling flights by the end — or at least daydreaming about Mediterranean sunsets.

As for the romance, Andrew W. Walker brings his usual easy charm and warm grin, which Hallmark fans are familiar with and love. Margaret Clunie is earnest and likeable as Eva, but the chemistry between the two doesn’t always crackle the way you might hope. There are sweet moments, but sometimes it feels like they’re working harder to connect than the script allows. For Love and Honey (2025)

The plot attempts to mix things up by incorporating a light treasure-hunt element tied to ancient frescoes and Eva’s archaeological work. It’s a fun idea, and it does add a little adventure beyond the typical “stranger-meets-stranger-in-paradise” storyline. That said, the pacing can feel a bit uneven, and some of the dialogue leans into classic Hallmark cheesiness — which you’ll either adore or gently roll your eyes at.

Still, there’s something genuinely delightful about watching a rom-com that involves honey, history, and happenstance. It’s not groundbreaking television, but it’s warm, pretty, and comforting in that familiar Hallmark way. Think of it like a cozy cup of tea with a drizzle of honey: pleasant, soothing, and just sweet enough. All things considered, three stars out of five feels just right.

If you’re wondering where to catch it, For Love & Honey is currently available to stream on Hallmark Movies Now and can also be found on the Hallmark Channel app if you sign in with your TV provider. It’s also popping up occasionally on live Hallmark Channel broadcasts, so keep an eye on your guide — or settle in with streaming whenever you’re ready for a breezy, bee-filled escape.
