A Perfect Host

Who knew a healthy body could produce such a diseased mind?!

When picking the perfect place to rent for a getaway weekend, one should always be careful.  Want isolation? Better check the “digs” out first, man. A Perfect Host, a new horror film from Three Hair Production and One Chameleon Entertainment, shows why ALL vacationers need to exhibit some - or in the case of this movie - a lot of caution.  There’s horror under the roof at this deadly domicile!

"Thanks to the chills and thrills of this horror flick, you can forget about a little weekend getaway to the outskirts of Austin, folks"

Written and directed by Chad Werner, A Perfect Host - thanks to an electrifying performance from Brady Burleson Johnson as a fitness-obsessed manic and its spot-on soundtrack - legitimately creeps viewers out.  The paranoia in this Airbnb gem is practically air-tight and it will leave you gasping for air as one set of four friends discover that there is no safe place from the psycho they’ve rented this house from.

Even out on the lake, Tad’s presence is everywhere.  While it is very easy to be annoyed by him - especially if you like the peace and the quiet - there is a quality to Tad that makes him hard to shake . . . and, I suppose, that much more dangerous.  Again, the performance here from Johnson seals the deal on this horror title. He simply kills it (pun intended) as the multi-dimensional psycho at the center of this demented tale. {googleads}

The vacation begins peacefully enough.  Sure, there’s tension between Sam (Jeff McQuitty) and Avery (Katelynn Marie Marshall) and a couple of jump scares that audiences could do without, but there’s also the first appearance of Tad, too.  He comes from out of the darkness and delivers one hell of an entrance.

As one couple attempts to settle in, another is making their way toward the isolated lake house.  This creates more tension and more dread as Werner’s compact and crisp direction allows ample time for viewers to psychologically amp up the on-screen consequence as bits of Greek Mythology influences are hinted at and the mystery surrounding Tad is inflated as his seemingly affable gestures take an eerie and sinister twist, turning their dream vacation into a nightmare. A Perfect Host

Thanks to the chills and thrills of this horror flick, you can forget about a little weekend getaway to the outskirts of Austin, folks.
