Rude and crude, The Necro Files have been opened!
Ready to do the Devil’s work? Wild Eye Releasing and Visual Vengeance are as The Necro Files, a satanic shot on video nudie-fest from 1997, gets its blu-ray debut. I mean, sure, these films are horrible looking and full of horrible content, but what blu-ray do you know rewards viewers with their very own condom? That’s right. This is probably the only one with that surprise inside.
Detective Martin Manners (Steve Sheppard) and Detective Orville Sloane (Gary Browning) are not having a good day. Thanks to the flesh on display from a very naked woman, though, we definitely are. Naked and just out of the shower, she doesn’t realize that a masked serial killer, Logan (Isaac Cooper), is after her, but it matters little as his twisted game of cat and mouse IN HER HOUSE is coming to a grand finale . . . for the killer.
Of course, Logan - in a very sexual manner - must make her his, though. He plunges the knife deep in her gut while he mounts her and thrusts. Perverted to the last, The Necro Files, directed by Matt Jaissle, is for the strong of stomach only as Logan isn’t finished with his carving up of his latest victim until he has eaten her nipple.
Wild, right? And Jaissle’s VHS camcorder is there to capture it all. Every single moment of the disembowelment is captured and Detective Sloane is having none of it, but he can’t stop his partner from taking matters into his own hands and blowing this son of a bitch away for good.
Or at least that’s the intention when he blasts a hole in his gut, filling him with enough lead to turn every appenditure on his body into a pencil. But the time of awakening is at hand! And, guided by Satan himself, a bizarre ritual is held over Logan’s grave by a bunch of crazed fans and a (plastic) baby is sacrificed, all in the act of bringing Logan back from the dead, complete with an oversized member just ready for the next victim!
But first, Zombie Logan rips off a cultist’s penis, de-guts another one, and starts out on his quest for unlimited revenge. These idiots don’t know what they have released, but Detective Manners and Sloane do and they are back on the street, trying to stop Logan’s violence before it even begins. They’ll fail miserably as most every woman in this horror flick gets naked and falls victim to Logan’s giant penis.
The Necro Files is chock full of gore and guts and guns and gyrations as crass humor struts around in disguise as shock. That’s the fun of it all. The Necro Files is not a great movie, but the characterizations of the cops and their mannerisms makes it worth watching and now, thanks to Visual Vengeance and Wild Eye Releasing, this D-grade sleaze-a-thon can be yours.

An often referenced and notorious underground classic for the last 25 years, this "American Video Nasty" is finally available to a mass audience and for the first time ever in BR format. A serial killer rises from the grave as a flesh-eating zombie maniac! Two Seattle cops, a satanic cult and a flying demon baby try to stop the lust-crazed ghoul before he can kill again. The Necro Files is stacked with intense scenes of gore and sadism, and boasts some of the most WTF moments in the history of shot on video cinema.
Video:
Framed in a 1.78.1 widescreen and taken from an archival 1997 SD master minted from the original tapes and remastered in 1080p, The Necro Files looks as terrible as it sounds. The image is not sharp and the dark edges hang ominously throughout each scene as we from night to night, with only the daylight scenes leaving viewers with a sharp visual punch. Gore is extreme and so is the nudity, with lots and lots of flesh on display.
Audio:
The audio is presented in a 16-bit DTS-HD 2.0 Mono track, which is absolutely appropriate for this title.
