Gold Dust (2020)

Desert hi-jinks don’t get any livelier or funnier than they do in Gold Dust, a rich comedy about a rather bizarre set of occurrences happening to one team of treasure hunters in the American Southwest.

"Desert hi-jinks don’t get any livelier or funnier than they do in Gold Dust"

Fink and Moses are treasure hunters.  But don’t let that fact misdirect you.  These two goofballs, while lovable, are completely out of their minds.  There’s no doubt about it either.  Before we get to their personal hang ups or the fact that one of them thinks he was in The Lord of the Rings, Fink and Moses are in a race against . . . themselves.

Consider the conversation which opens Gold Dust in which Moses as Fink if he’d rather be a super smart pig or a dolphin.  Moses is driving their beat-up car through the desert and is unyielding in his attempts to convince Fink that his choice - being that of a dolphin - is completely wrong.  The exchange between the two is, at once, hilarious and sets out what’s to come in this rollicking adventure from High Octane Pictures. {googleads}

Written and directed by David Wall, Gold Dust takes the southwest by storm as Fink and Moses, riffing through comedic scenes about orcs and orphanages, find themselves fighting armed kids on dirt bikes, dealing with a dancing assassin, and trying not to get outsmarted AGAIN by their treasure hunting nemesis thanks to the search for bags and bags of gold dust.

All set to classical music and NEW music from Cage The Elephant, this comedy feels and operates a lot like a Looney Tunes cartoon and, thankfully, it succeeds in being solid entertainment for all.

Starring David Wall, Darin Brooks (The Bold & The Beautiful), Chris Romano (How I Met Your Mother), David Wysocki (The Young and The Restless), Derek Severson and Garrett Marchbank, Gold Dust will have you clutching your sides as Moses asks which is better: a loved, toothless wrestler or a hated hockey player WITH teeth while the villains raise hell over thinking that one of their “machucas” killed a guy dressed up as Santa Claus.  But, obviously, there is more at stake and Moses and Fink are at the centre of it all. Gold Dust (2020) Gold Dust is genuinely and constantly funny.  It mixes adventure with lots of hilarious conversations and outrageous situations as these two treasure hunters find themselves in over their collective heads thanks to the discovery of a whole lot of money that a drug lord wants back.  Hunted and outsmarted, their answers to their own problems will keep you entertained.

A rollicking western adventure for the whole family, Gold Dust arrives on DVD and Digital on April 7 from High Octane Pictures.  Seek this title out and dig in!

Synopsis: Somewhere along the border with Mexico, two lifelong friends - prospectors - use moth eaten maps and passed down legends in a lifelong search to find a ghost ship rumored to have been buried in the desert sand over millennia as the seafloor dried up. Today, Mexican drug lords operate here, using a fleet of children in ultra light airplanes, flying in a new type of treasure - heroin - modern gold dust. These two friends must decide between pursuing their dreams of treasure, suddenly so close, and what they know is right. To save themselves, or risk their lives to save a young girl captive to the drug lord.
