Benji - Movie Trailer

Netflix follows its short teaser that debuted earlier this month with the full trailer for the reboot of Benji, the popular Joe Camp written and directed film of the '70s that launched Benji-mania into American consciousness and carved a place for scruffy little puppies into the hearts of everyone. Speak to anyone who was around in that decade and they'll know who Benji was. He was that big.

This latest iteration – the tenth Benji film – of the franchise is being handled by Brandon Camp, the son of Joe Camp who wrote and directed the original. Brandon Camp is also known for Love Happens which he wrote for the screen back in 2009.

In this new version, we see a young boy Carter (Gabriel Bateman) and girl Frankie (Darby Camp) take in a homeless puppy and name it Benji before Carter and Frankie become involved in some of kind of kidnapping plot from which Benji will be called upon the come to the rescue.

If the trailer is any indication, Benji is certain to gain an ardent following from a whole new generation of families and most likely spawn a new host of sequels and merchandise featuring the lovable little puppy. The film will be released for your viewing pleasure on the online streaming platform beginning at 2am Central Standard time on March 16th of this year.

Benji has not been rated by the MPAA, but then again, the grubby reach of the MPAA has nothing to do with Netflix releases. Let's just say Benji is sure to be safe and fun for the entire family.

Benji will steal your heart this spring on March 16th... only on Netflix.
