Scooby Doo, Where Are You: The Complete Series

IT. HAS. ARRIVED.

Fred Jones. Daphne Blake. Velma Dinkley. Shaggy Rogers. And a Great Dane named Scooby-Doo. That’s right, kiddos, the Mystery Machine has pulled up in all-new (AND BOLD) colors! The details! The animation! And all the fun-loving, free-wheeling, sandwich-gobbling spirit that you can muster. Scooby-Doo, Where Are You: The Complete Series is out just in time to celebrate this beloved cartoon’s 50th anniversary.

"the animated images here are absolutely stunning and, often, it feels like watching the animated series with brand-new eyes"

Consisting of 41-episodes, this comprehensive set – released on blu-ray for the first time by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment – presents the official three seasons of the show in sparkling high definition. Watch the lovable Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Inc. gang literally tackle The Black Knight, the Ghost of Captain Cutler, the Phantom, the Ape Man, the Witch Doctor, Redbeard’s Ghost, Dracula, Frankenstein’s monster, the Werewolf, and all other sorts of Spooky Space Kooks in these three seasons. {googleads}

Trust me, the animated images here are absolutely stunning and, often, it feels like watching the animated series with brand-new eyes, which is saying a lot considering the amount of hours I’ve spent staring into the abyss that is Scooby-Doo’s hand-painted background cells. Even the bubblegum pop songs running during the chase sequences – courtesy of Danny Janssen and Austin Roberts – sound fresh. It is absolutely amazing to witness.

The restoration here is incredible, especially if you are used to seeing the show in standard definition, complete with the usual dirt and debris in the images. Created by creators Joe Ruby and Ken Spears and featuring the voice talents of Don Messick as Scooby-Doo, Casey Kasem as Shaggy Rogers, Frank Welker as Fred Jones, Stefanianna Christopherson as Daphne Blake (season 1), Heather North as Daphne Blake (seasons 2 and 3), Nicole Jaffe as Velma Dinkley (seasons 1 and 2), and Pat Stevens as Velma Dinkle (Season 3), all 41-episodes of this show absolutely glisten.Scooby Doo, Where Are You: The Complete Series

But Warner Bros doesn’t stop at just the content with this release. For a limited time, you can purchase the set as a detailed and super colorful reproduction of the iconic Mystery Mansion which is seen in the opening credits of the beloved show. This LIMITED-EDITION release also includes an exclusive Scooby-Doo Funko keychain, and a mini Scooby-Doo Encyclopedia, and a digital copy code for the entire series.

Scooby-Doo is in da HD house! A pop culture institution finally arrives in 1080p. SCOOBY-DOOBY DOOOO!

It should be noted that the picture quality is very good; however, the HD reveals more of the animation errors and the age of the show. Obviously, the television show is in the original 4:3 full screen and only the new titles and some of the new extras are in 16:9 ratios. The sound throughout these episodes is a fairly raucous Dolby Digital 2.0 mix and not 5.1 surround as some of you might be expecting.
