Opening in the middle of a battle in WWII, Operation Black Ops puts its jarring action front and center, hiding nothing from its audience about what it is wanting to do. This action-heavy film is loaded with blood, guts, and lots of guns; everything here is set to go off in a spectacular blaze of glory.
And that’s by design, too. This movie is a slice of lean meat. It’s cut. It’s fast. It’s furious. It’s full of a whole lot of bullets, too. And you’ll never know from what direction they are coming in this high-octane, adrenaline-fueled must-watch for action enthusiasts.
Is it the best action thriller out there? No. But it sure is entertaining.
Starring MMA icons and former UFC Champions Tito Ortiz and Cris Cyborg, Operation Black Ops knows its target audience quite well and delivers the goods. This is what happens when a group of wild-ass mercenaries are hired to overthrow a Neo-Nazi stronghold. The stronghold is nestled deep in Texas, but it holds many surprises.
And this team is about to uncover a pretty big one: nuclear codes with which to begin WWIII. WRF?!?!
With a stripped-down angle on its set design, Operation Black Ops spends most of its time engaging in war and the complications lying therein. Even the music is lit and ready to rumble as the characters are aligned and given their orders. 
While we don’t get a lot of character development, we get enough to shuffle the characters into genre staple archetypes for action thrillers and it works to create the typical tension you would expect as time sensitive responses are curled in the workout room by old friends and new enemies.
Operation Black Ops, written, directed, and produced by Jamaal Burden, also stars Mike Ferguson, Kelsey Johnson, Mike Markoff, Paul Bikibili, JD Ellis, Alicia Gakima, Rafael Cansino, JR Orvalle, Jenna Pena, and Mario Torres. The movie has been acquired by Uncork’d Entertainment and definitely EXPLODES in all the right ways.
With few moments of reflection sprinkled in to question allegiances, this film goes for the jugular as this team is assembled and given their target: Hitler’s Fourth Reich. And they are deadly as hell, but can this team get out of its own way to be successful?!
Operation Black-Ops will be released on Digital and DVD July 11.
