This weekend we learned that The Meg's bite may not be quite as vicious as originally thought. The Jason Statham-headlined giant shark thriller was knocked from the top spot by Warner Bros.' highly anticipated romantic comedy Crazy Rich Asians which raked in $25.2 million at this weekend's box office.{googleads}
The Meg kept its clench on the box office however with a drop down to number two, earning $21.1 million which brings its total to over $314 million worldwide in just two weeks.
The Mark Wahlberg thriller Mile 22 failed to reach the finish line with a paltry $13.6 million take followed by another debut this week in the form of Albert Hughs's Alpha which rode positive word of mouth into the fourth spot.
