It was Pikachu vs. Avengers at the weekend box office. Ultimately, the superheroes managed to come out on top for third straight weekend.

Avengers: Endgame pulled in an unprecedented $63 million over its third weekend to bring its domestic total to more than $723 million which shoots it past Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War. Internationally, the film has brought in slightly less than $2.5 billion. Next up on its hit list is Avatar which sits at $2.8 billion. How long until that happens?

However, there was room at theaters for a legion of Pokemon fans to make some noise as Warner Bros. released Pokemon Detective Pikachu to 4,200 theaters which earned an estimated $58 million over the weekend.

The Hustle, the new comedy starring Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson opened in third place with a $13 million weekend which was enough to beat out The Intruder which made $6.6 million in its second week of release. {googleads}

Rounding out the top five was the Seth Rogen/Charlize Theron comedy Long Shot which added another $6.1 million to its two-week total.

In the sixth slot was another film making its debut in the form of Poms which made $5.1 million which beat out the family-friendly animated film Uglydolls which added nearly $4 million to its two-week total.

Fox's Christian drama Breakthrough came in eighth place with a $2.4 million take which is enough to fend off newcomer Tolkein which made $2.1 million over the weekend.

The top ten was rounded out by Captain Marvel which is in its tenth week of release and added another $1.8 to bring its domestic total to a whopping $423 million.
