Street Fighter Collection - Blu-ray Review

Clash, Killer Fist!  A legend has returned.

If you are not yet one with the madness that is the martial arts film, then let this release be your starting point.  Why?  Because from the years of 1973 to 1976, at the height of the martial arts movie and its influence of sheer insanity and nastiness, there is NO OTHER film series as chopsocky The Street Fighter series.

"All three films are presented in their unaltered formats thanks to Shout! Select, which truly should be commended for refusing to censor any of the material and give fans of the collection some of their best remastering efforts"

Make no mistake about it, Japanese actor Sonny Chiba is a total BADASS as the amoral anti-hero Takuma Tsurugi (known here in the States simply as “Terry”) and his turn in the three films that make up The Street Fighter Legacy – 1974’s The Street Fighter, The Return of the Street Fighter, and The Street Fighter’s Last Revenge – have long been hailed as violent, X-rated flicks of fury.

And now, thanks to Shout! Select, the entire trilogy makes its way onto blu-ray.  Once again, Chiba is back in action karate kicking his way through the wild deeds of the Yakuza.  Whether it is from kidnapping, fake charities, or simply for the fun of shoving a foot up someone’s ass, Terry is all about making sadism sexy. {googleads}

Chiba plays a character that, while not always on the up-and-up, has a strong sense of what’s right and what’s wrong. Tsurugi is a martial arts expert and he loves to smash heads, rip beating hearts out of chests, and perform all sorts of sweet kicks to the chest. He is also a mercenary for hire and, when he is not loving the ladies, enjoys castrating men with his bare hands.  Don’t even think about not paying him, though, because his loyalty to the dollar bill is second to none.

If you EVER want to know how marital arts flicks got their reputation for extreme gore and more, more, more, look no further than at these three flicks.  They are fun, ridiculously violent, and so over-the-top with their sadistic acts of extreme violence that you will laugh before choking on your own vomit. Street Fighter Collection - Blu-ray Review

The world of Grindhouse SIN-ema was never the same after one bloody visit from Chiba.  No censor could stop the epic hands and feet of Chiba and these films, arriving one right after the other, prove why.  Chiba’s appetite for destruction might have been big, but our appetites were bigger and we, the movie-going public, wanted more violence, more blood gushing from mouths, more

All three films are presented in their unaltered formats thanks to Shout! Select, which truly should be commended for refusing to censor any of the material and give fans of the collection some of their best remastering efforts.  The 2K scans are dynamic, gory, and unmercifully brutal.  The dubbed versions are included.  These three films have been newly scanned and are the X-rated editions of the original movies.

Get your chopsocky fix right here!  Thanks to Shout! Select, all three Street Fighter flicks are now housed in one collection!
