Snake Outta Compton - Movie Trailer

Straight Outta Compton not only burned up the box office a few years back with its $200 million worldwide take, it also lit a fire under the notion that setting a Snakes on a Plane knock-off in the California city of Compton just might work as a full-length feature film.

Well, after watching the trailer for Snake Outta Compton (which you can see below), it is clear that whoever gave birth to the idea is either a total genius or a numskull with a bankruptcy wish. Regardless, we will find out which one on October 23rd when Snake Outta Compton invades DVD/blu-ray and digital on demand with its campy cool vibe (ok, more campy than cool). But be forewarned, it looks to be as silly as its poster hints, which you can also take a look at below.

The film is about a rap group on the verge of hitting it big when their first record deal is disrupted by a giant mutant snake that begins to wreak havoc on the city. In the trailer we see a nerdy scientist (Donte Essian) zap a pet snake with a ray gun blast that apparently causes the snake to grow at an uncontrollable rate as it escapes and begin terrorizing the city. {googleads}

The film is directed by Hank Braxton who works from a script he co-wrote with Tim Johnson, and James and Jon Kondelik. Lionsgate will be releasing the film just in time for Halloween on October 23rd. Rejoice B-movie lovers! It's going to be a campy Halloween.
