The Prey: Legend of Karnoctus

No fire next to the chemicals!  With that sentence, you get your ONE warning because The Prey: Legend of Karnoctus isn’t kidding around when it comes to MONSTERS and MAYHEM.  Bringing its FOUR-EYED carnage to the hills and caves of Afghanistan, this film, directed by The Hensman Brothers (in their debut!), absolutely delivers the goods for those wanting an entertaining popcorn muncher on a hot summer evening.

"knows EXACTLY WHAT IT IS and it also knows its audience"

In the mood for an ass-kicking monster flick starring Danny Trejo and Nick ChinlundThe Prey: Legend of Karnoctus has the b-movie carnage you’ve been looking for!  Is it goofy?  As hell!  Is it out of its mind?  Completely!  And you know what?  This independent production knows EXACTLY WHAT IT IS and it also knows its audience, continuing its good and groovy vibes with two separate teams - one a military platoon and the other armed to the teeth treasure seekers - must work together if they want to survive what lurks in the shadows.

The platoon loves hip-hop and talks nonstop about Star Wars as they patrol the sun-bleached hills outside of an Afghan village. The other group loves money and, as they  are pulling off a major heist, these teams and their fates are soon intertwined thanks to an unfortunate set of circumstances beneath the desert sun.

Soon enough, we are in the thick of it with a chemistry among its stars which cannot be matched (or oversold) as kills are counted and tempers exhausted . . . all beneath a scorching sun as these two platoons - one in retreat from the Taliban and the other hiding with their loot - become the prey for an ancient monster known only to legend deep in the caves! The Prey: Legend of Karnoctus

And, damn it, if I don’t love the results as The Prey: Legend of Karnoctus reunites Con Air adversaries Nick Chinlund (Chronicles of Riddick) and Danny Trejo (Machete, From Dusk till Dawn) who have a massive heist on their mind. The film also stars Adrian Paul ("Highlander: The Series"), Kevin Grevioux (Underworld), Fahim Fazli (Argo, Iron Man), Adolfo de la Parra, Justin Arnold, and Masika Kalisha.  Take note of those actors, my friends, because they totally sell the movie when its low budget shortcomings become noticeable.

It’s The Descent meets The Expendables and I am down with all of what The Prey: Legend of Karnoctus offers.  Everything works to create something truly fun and wild.  It’s a tale of survival as everyone must team-up against the monster below if they really want to see sunlight again.  Claustrophobic at times and action-packed at others, The Prey: Legend of Karnoctus brings a deadly sasquatch-like figure to Afghanistan.  From the design of the monster to the joke-filled dialogue in the movie, there’s so much to love that you will forget some of the familiar aspects of the script.

On July 7, The Prey: Legend of Karnoctus will debut on digital platforms, including iTunes, Prime Video, Vudu, and Google Play. The action-adventure monster movie is now available nationwide on all major Cable, Satellite and Telco platforms, including Comcast, Charter, DirecTV, Cox, Verizon Fios, Dish, Sling and AT&T U-verse.  Game over, man!

Forget about Camel Spiders, man!  There’s something much bigger in this cave!
