It seems that A24 can do no wrong. With a recent string of critical successes such as Lady Bird, The Disaster Artist, Hereditary, Eighth Grade, plus a tradition of critically-acclaimed fare that stretches back to its humble beginnings in 2013, the A24 brand has become as close to a surefire thing that Hollywood has to offer. {googleads}

From the looks of its latest trailer release, that string of accomplishment will carry on with Mid90s, the new film written and directed by Jonah Hill... yes, that Jonah Hill.

The film is set in 1990s-era Los Angeles and appears to be a heartwarming coming-of-age story that centers on a 13-year-old-boy named Stevie (Sunny Suljic) who turns to his new group of skater friends to get away from his troubled home life and abusive brother Ian (Lucas Hedges).

The film marks Hill's directorial debut from his own script and stars Lucas Hedges (Manchester by the Sea), Katherine Waterston (Alien: Covenant), and Sunny Suljic (The Killing of a Sacred Deer). Jonah Hill will not appear in the film.

If this one turns out as good as it looks from the trailer, A24 will have yet another winner on its hands. At this point, we already perk up when any film bears the A24 mark, so here's wishing Jonah Hill and A24 great success with Mid90s.

The film is slated to grind its way into theaters this fall on October 19th.
