Disney sneak-peaked a quick look at its hot new follow-up to 1964's Mary Poppins during last night's Academy Awards presentation with a teaser trailer for Mary Poppins Returns. And it was charming, heartwarming and full of wonder.

The film is a sequel to the original that starred Julie Andrews in the role of the magical nanny who uses song and adventure to endear a pair of neglected children to their over-worked father.

The sequel, some fifty years in the making, stars Emily Blunt as the iconic nanny. It is safe to say that from the little we see in the 90-second trailer, Disney has captured the pure joy and whimsy of the Disney classic.

We see Mary return 20 years later to Cherry Tree Lane on the tail of a kite to find the Banks children (Ben Whishaw and Emily Mortimer) all grown with children of their own. We don't get much else in the way of plot from the short trailer, but word has it that Dick van Dyke has a cameo in Mary Poppins Returns.
