The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part - Movie Trailer

Warner Bros just dropped the new teaser trailer for The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part 2 which picks up five years after the events of 2014's original which saw construction worker Emmett (Chris Pratt) and Wyldstyle (Elizabeth Banks)  recruited to stop an evil dictator from gluing all the Lego pieces together.{googleads}

In the sequel, all the main characters are reunited to save their beloved city from evil invaders.

Technically, this is the fourth entry in the Lego movie universe with The Lego Batman Movie and The Lego Ninjago Movie having squeezed in between. There's a gritty Mad Max feel to Bricksburg which seems to have gone to pot since the horrific events of taco Tuesday. We see Wyldestyle trying to toughen up her counterpart Emmett, but something tells us that Emmett will save the day once again by continuing to remain his same-old naive self.

The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part 2 will hit theaters next year on February 8th. The project has hit a few bumps along the road with The Lego Movie director Chris McKay originally set to direct but who eventually went on to make The Lego Batman Movie. Then Rob Schrab jumped onboard only to leave due to "creative differences." Mike Mitchell and Trisha Gum are co-directors with Phil Lord and Christopher Miller contributing quite heavily after leaving the Han Solo project.
