Planes Theatrical TrailerGoing back to the well that brought great success to the Pixar lamp, Disneytoon Studios is borrowing one from the Cars playbook for its next animated feature. Only this time they are taking the story to the skies in Planes which debuted its first full-length trailer on the web today.

The story focuses on Dusty Crophopper a plane with dreams of competing as a high-flying air racer. Sound familiar? Only one problem though. Dusty is afraid of heights so he must turn to the support of friends who help him qualify for the upcoming race.

Dusty Crophopper is voiced by Dane Cook with Stacy Keach providing the voice to Dusty's mentor, Skipper. Others in the cat include Cedric the Entertainer,  Val Kilmer, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and John Cleese.

DisneyToon's first feature-length film since 2005's Pooh's Heffalump Movie, Planes was originally slated for a direct-to-DVD release, but has since been given a full theatrical run. It will open in theaters on August 9th of this year in both 2D and 3D.
