Trailer - The Best Exotic Marigold HotelDirector John Madden, who brought us Shakespeare in Love and more recently The Debt, continues to dabble in movies about old people as he adapts a script by Ol Parker based on a novel by Deborah Moggach. Besides sporting a very intriguing title, the film features a star-studded veteran cast that is sure to bedazzle even the grumpiest of old curmudgeons. The film is called The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and stars Bill Nighy, Maggie Smith, Tom Wilkinson, and Judi Dench. Alert viewers will also notice Slumdog Millionaire's Dev Patel running around as well.

After our first look at the trailer, which was released today and can viewed at the end of this article, the film appears to be one of those charming inspirational stories of self-discovery that could either end up being a true soul-filling delight, or tip over into pure Bucket List cheese. The trailer features some absolutely gorgeous visuals and what appears to be a display of very solid acting.

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is about a group of British retirees who decide to save a little money during their retirement by moving to the less expensive but beautiful India. Once they arrive however, they're less than pleased at discovering that their retirement community is a little less luxurious than the one they saw on the brochure. Nonetheless, the retirees are forever transformed by their shared experiences in a foreign land.
