Fred M. Andrews's CreatureIt has been stalking the backwoods of the Louisiana swamps for years, so it's high time that Fred M. Andrews' Creature sets its moss-tinged sights on theaters around the country. The creature feature that some may know by its previous monikers, Blood is Blood or Lockjaw, appears to have finally overcome its troubled road into the light of day and will be hitting theaters on September 9 of this year (word has it anyway). Oh, and by the way, you can check out the official trailer below. It's not a particularly well done snippet, but the film does look pretty creepy. And it never hurts that it stars both the great Sid Haig AND Pruitt Taylor Vince. Throw in True Blood's Mehcad Brooks and Breakout Kings' Serinda Swan and we begin to wonder how this thing could possibly go wrong. Then again, we know how this industry works.

Creature is now being handled by a studio called Bubble Factory, an outlet known for its last-minute financing of troubled films on their road to theatrical release, so there are red flags aplenty. But we suggest you check out the trailer below and decide for yourself. Anyone else notice  Lockjaw's resemblance to Creature From the Black Lagoon's Gill-Man?

The only thing more exciting to us than knowing Sid Haig is in the film is getting to see him in a role that reminds us of his shopkeep turn as Captain Spaulding in House of 1000 Corpses.

An ex-Navy seal (Mehcad Brooks), his girlfriend (Serinda Swan) and their friends head out on a road trip to New Orleans. The group decides to stop at a roadside convenience store owned by Chopper (Sid Haig), who tells them the tale of Lockjaw, a fabled god-like creature who is half-man, half-alligator.

The legend has it that an inbred local man by the name of Grimley (Daniel Bernhardt) lost his family to a monstrous white alligator, which then drove him to madness and some believe he was transformed into that very creature that now haunts the depths of the swamps. Their curiosity peaked, the group decides to play along with the local tourist trap and journey deep into the backwoods to find the old dilapidated cabin which is supposed to be the birthplace of the creature.

As they set-up camp for the night, their faith is put to the test when Lockjaw turns out to be more than just a myth and they realize the locals are hiding a horrifying secret that jeopardizes them all.
