Eva Green Cast as Female Lead in Burton's Dark Shadows

Today we get word from Deadline that Eva Green has been cast as the evil witch, Angelique in the Tim Burton directed big screen adaptation of the '60s gothic television soap opera, Dark Shadows.

The French-born Green is mostly know for her Bond girl turn as the hot Vesper Lynd in the 2006 James Bond thriller, Casino Royale. In Dark Shadows she'll play the role of deadly witch Angelique Bouchard who, in the series, placed a vampiric curse on Barnabas Collins transforming him from a normal human into a vampire.

Lara Parker filled the role from 1967 to 1971. Johnny Depp will be Barnabas Collins in Burton's reimagining.
