The Dictator tells the heroic story of a dictator who risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed. It is inspired by the best selling novel "Zabibah and The King" by Saddam Hussein.

We assume the book was written by a ghost writer with Saddam's input, and that it is likely not a comedy. But Baron Cohen's version will be a comedy directed by Larry Charles (Borat, Bruno) and is slated to be released worldwide on May 11, 2012. The film will be produced by Scott Rudin.
