Shazam!

DC remains at the top of the box office for the second week in a row with its superhero comedy Shazam! staving off two big tentpole newcomers in the Hellboy remake and Laika's stop-motion animated film Missing Link, which brought in $12 million and $5.8 million respectively, and the Regina Hall comedy film Little from Universal which scored big in second place with a very respectable $15.4 million take.

The DC blockbuster added another $25 million over the weekend to bring its domestic total to nearly $95 million. Depending on how well the horror film The Curse of La Llorona does in its debut next weekend, there's a good chance that Shazam! could stay on top for another week until Marvel's big-hitter Avengers: Endgame takes over the box office. {googleads}

The horror remake Pet Sematary dropped two slots to fourth with a $10 million weekend while Disney's live-action remake of its classic Dumbo also fell two slots to fifth by adding another $9.1 million which brings its three week total to nearly $90 million.

Marvel's superhero film Captain Marvel held strong with an $8.6 million weekend, while Jordan Peele's horror film Us finished in seventh place with a $6.9 million haul to bring its four week total to $163 million.

Rounding out the top ten were the Jenny Gage-directed romantic drama After with $6.2 million and the race drama The Best of Enemies which added $2 million over the weekend.
