Sony Pictures just gave us the third trailer for the Venom movie, which carries forward the studio's plan for a spin-off universe of characters from the Spider-Man world. And it is marvelous.{googleads}

The new trailer was released by Sony to those in attendance at San Diego's July Comic-Con, but the studio decided to avoid the crush of other trailer releases with a delayed launch. The film hits theaters this fall, and the studio seems to have things back on track after fans were sent into a tizzy following the film's initial trailer launch back in February of this year which failed to resonate due mainly to the absence of the titular character.

But things were set straight with the second trailer which we saw back in April, and this latest one will most assuredly get a rise from fans as it features plenty of new footage in addition to several good looks at the dangerous Symbiotes. Curiously, however, there has still not yet been word of an official synopsis for the film which hits theaters on October 5.

In addition to Tom Hardy, the film also stars Michelle Williams, Woody Harrelson, and Riz Ahmed.
