Mothertruckin' mamas in pink rigs are not to be messed with!
Truck Stop Women, starring Claudia Jennings, Lieux Dressler and John Martino, might just have one of the better openings out there in B-movie land. In an oversized tub, a hot naked woman rubs the feet of a naked man.
Soapsuds are every which way. They seem to be enjoying each other’s company.
And then the door swings open and two gangsters appear. Their guns are hot and loaded and they go to town on the man. Bullets fly. Blood flows. The woman screams in terror and then they turn their guns on her.
Bang. Bang. Bang. Two dead. And just like that, this flirty dirty tale about horny truck driving women tangling with the mafia begins.
Directed by Mark Lester (Firestarter, Commando, Class of 1984) and financed by Texas politician Phil Gramm, this super smexy gas-guzzling tale on the highway to Hell is actually quite good. The pacing is spot-on and the characters, while usually loaded and loose, are solid. Sure, there are tits and ass on display throughout but the story of a red-headed mother vs. a hot-headed blonde daughter struggling for control of a truck stop brothel is plenty of exciting. We even get a nice DD-sized deception in this exploitation gem.
These women both love ‘em and leave ‘em along the highway and this includes the mafia who also want s piece of the action. But the girls don’t flea the scene until they steal all of the bog boys’ rigs. Sometimes they paint them white. Sometimes it is pink. The bottom line is that the bozos that get their trucks stolen – along with their goods – aren’t getting them back. At all.
Anna’s Trucker Specials are all the rage. From under the table handjobs to goons with guns, the well-worn leather on this cinematic bitch is fringed at all the right lengths. There’s betrayal and boobs and 24-hour coffee at this rest stop. And it’s all because eastern money wants this operation out of New Mexico for good.
The local sheriff is a regular at Anna’s Truck Terminal. He pays good money for his time with the ladies. And, because he has his own handcuffs, they never run far. But he’ll be there when the flames get higher around Anna’s. Damned reliable, that fat bastard is.
Complete with a documentary-like montage, albeit with boobs, Lester’s film is wild romp through the Southwest. It is now on blu-ray thanks to Code Red’s brand new director-approved 2K scan of the original negative.

Presented with a clean 2.55:1 aspect ratio, Code Red’s transfer is damn tasty. Colors are well-saturated and shadows are strong. There is a nice grain to the look of the film and textures in the diner are perceptible. There is a lot of skin in this movie and the look of the flesh is natural. The 2.0 DTS-HD MA sound mix keeps the kickass country songs and dialogue clear and clean.
