The Dark Tower - Movie Trailer

Stephen King’s sci-fi saga, The Dark Tower, is finally getting a big screen adaptation and now, thanks to Sony, we have our first look at some of the footage following this morning’s release of the thrilling trailer for The Dark Tower. The trailer follows yesterday’s release of a few posters and teasers and puts a wild-ass bow on the release of the highly-anticipated film.

The Dark Tower is set in a parallel universe where the gunslinger (Idris Elba) - the last of the ancient knights who were sworn to protect us – is searching the entire mid-world for the magical dark tower that protects both universes.

After discovering clues about the alternate universe, a young adventure-seeking boy (Tom Taylor) is spirited away where he meets up with the gunslinger and together they set out to stop the man in black (Matthew McConaughey) who wants to destroy the tower.

The trailer is all it was cracked up to be and has even gotten the seal of approval from King himself who deems the trailer “awesome.” It is simply cool as hell with other-worldly creatures, fantastic set pieces, and numerous top-notch action sequences, including a closing scene that features the gunslinger killing an enemy with a no-look shot that passes through many obstacles before hitting its target as he coldly proclaims “I do not kill with my gun. I kill with my heart.” Then there’s the bad ass way he reloads his six-shooter that you have to see to totally appreciate.

The Dark Tower is not yet rated.

The Dark Tower will hit theaters as the summer season wanes on August 8, 2017.
