The Muppets Teaser TrailerDisney fanatics got first wind of it back in 2009. And Pirates of the Caribbean viewers this past weekend finally got a chance to see the teaser trailer for the first Muppets movie in quite some time. It's been twelve years in fact since Muppets From Space hit the big screen with the likes of Kermit, Miss Piggy and all the felted friends from the brilliant mind of the late Jim Henson.

We're finally getting a new one. This time around it will be a live-action affair starring Amy Adams and Jason Segal with plenty of fun cameo appearances including Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Zach Galifianakis, Ricky Gervais, Danny Trejo and more. We understand that director James Bobin and screenwriter Jason Segal have focused a lot of their attention to the story rather than simply letting the characters do the work. And from the looks of the trailer, this seems to indeed be the case. The film also looks to bring back a lot of classic Muppet nostalgia and a genuine Disney look and feel. Looks like we're getting back to the Muppet roots.

Fresh from the Walt Disney Pictures marketing machine is the new poster and first teaser trailer for The Muppets which has Gary (Jason Segal) and Mary (Amy Adams) from Smalltown, USA, discovering the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets’ former stomping grounds. Mary and Gary then stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10 million needed to save the theater and reunite the the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways: Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino tribute band called the Moopets, Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal is in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management, and Gonzo is a high-powered plumbing magnate.

The Muppets is scheduled to hit theaters this Thanksgiving on November 23rd.
