It was enough to scare off fellow newcomer The Mechanic however which wasn't able to fix much with just over $11 million on around 2,900 screens. The hitman remake finished in the third spot behind last week's number 1 movie, the Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman starred rom-com, No Strings Attached, which only fell off 31% pulling in an estimated $13.7 million for a ten day run of nearly $40 million.

The Green Hornet dipped 35% for the weekend to an estimated $11.5 million barely edging out The King's Speech which rose 41% on the buzz from its recent Golden Globe and Director's Guild wins to an estimated $11.1 million respectively.

True Grit, The Dilemma, Black Swan, The Fighter, and Yogi Bear rounded out the top ten. Following are the estimated weekend box office totals for January 28-30, 2011:

  3. The Mechanic - $11.5 million

  5. The King's Speech - $11.1 million
