Synopsis: Recently divorced and reeling, Edgar returns to his childhood home to regroup his life. When Edgar finds a nefarious looking puppet in his deceased brother's room, he decides to sell the doll for some quick cash. Girl-next-door Ashley and and comic book pal Markowitz join Edgar for a doomed road trip to an auction at a convention celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the infamous Toulon Murders. All hell breaks loose when a strange force animates the puppets at the convention, setting them on a bloody killing spree that's motivated by an evil as old as time.

The Puppet Master franchise is coming back to life with a reboot titled Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich and you can watch the new trailer below.

It should be noted that one of the film's producers is Fangoria (yes, THAT Fangoria) who are looking beyond magazine production with a foray into film production. Also producing are RLJE Films and Cinestate, as well as braintrust behind the Bone Tomahawk and The Meg films. {googleads}

The film premiered earlier this year at the Overlook Film Festival where it was said to "maintain all of the brutally inventive puppet-kills infused with the comedic tendencies of the original." So, here's hoping

Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich is directed by Sonny Laguna and Tommy Wiklund who work from a script by S. Craig Zahler who also wrote the screenplay for Bone Tomahawk and Brawl in Cell Block 99.

Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich has not been rated by the MPAA, but then again, do we really want it to be?

Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich will soak theaters in blood on August 17, 2018. It is also a day-and-date release on Digital HD and VOD.
