Lizzie - Movie Trailer

Everyone knows the morbid little nursery rhyme, "Lizzie Borden took an axe, gave her mother forty whacks," but does anyone know the real story of the 1892 murder of Andrew and Abby Borden who were found brutally murdered by what appeared to be axe wounds in their Massachusetts home?

Probably not, because it wasn't actually forty whacks that felled the family matriarch, but more like a dozen or so. Regardless, Andrew's daughter Lizzie, was eventually accused and later acquitted of the horrific crime.

There's a new movie about the incident called Lizzie and it is directed by Craig William McNeill and stars Chloë Sevigny as the infamous axe murderer. Kristen Stewart plays the Irish maid who comes to live with the Borden family and eventually develops an intimate relationship with Lizzie.

The film, which premiered at this year's Sundance Film Festival also stars Kim Dickens, Fiona Shaw, Denis O'Hare, and Jeff Perry and is slated to hit select theaters this fall on September 14th.
