A new trailer – that they are calling the final one – for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom just arrived, and you can watch it below. Of course Fallen Kingdom is the sequel to 2015's wildly popular Jurassic World which was, in turn, somewhat of a reboot of the Jurassic Park franchise. Today's release is a full trailer that follows the first full trailer to this past February's teaser which was basically an extended montage of cool dinosaurs, exploding volcanoes, and a cliff-hanger featuring those gyrospheres from Jurassic World.

In this latest trailer we get some new footage from the film plus a bit more about the plot which picks up from the original and reveals that the rescue mission from that film was but a ruse to get the dinosaurs off the island and into the villainous clutches of some very bad people looking to exploit the creatures.

Speaking for myself only here, but it appears that the tried-and-true creature feature formula of only minimally showing the monster seems to be getting shoved aside for inserting the CGI dinosaurs into nearly every frame. Of course, this could just be the trailer, after all with such a bloated budget they need a captivating hook, but it is looking like the Jurassic World franchise is heading down the same sad road that swallowed the Transformers franchise in a morass of overexposure and diminshing returns.

Chris Pratt is reprising his role as Owen Grady while Bryce Dallas Howard, Justice Smith, Jeff Goldblum, and Jame Cromwell also return for J.A. Bayona's take on the dinosaur franchise. Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow this time writes along with Derek Connolly

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, due this summer, is helmed by A Monster Calls director J.A. Bayona with the backing of the Steven Spielberg production team.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is PG-13 for intense sequences of science-fiction violence and peril and is slated to stomp into theaters this coming summer on June 22, 2018.
