The Inheritance

The first and, if I am being honest, BEST thing that The Inheritance, an Apollo Pictures Production, brings to the front and center is the absolute master craftsmanship of cinematographer Ryan Petey.  From beginning to ever-loving end of this 90-minute film from the Ukraine, his cinematic eye captures the intrigue and the atmosphere needed to bring to light the dark and disturbing family secret that haunts every frame of this chiller.

"a slow burn of ghostly terror that might switch off a lot of viewers, but - in its quiet moments - offers the viewers something deeper to dwell on"

Directed by Chad Barager and Kevin Speckmaier (who also wrote the screenplay), The Inheritance is a European-themed haunted house narrative which will leave goose bumps on your naked flesh and a haunting echo in each and every step made after viewing this independent flick.  It might also leave you thinking twice about visiting a library as one woman discovers all the ghosts which haunt her Ukraine-centered inheritance.

So, yes, as expected The Inheritance is about an inheritance that goes extremely crackers thanks to the paranormal activity which, as Sasha (Natalia Ryumina) discovers, refuses to go quietly into that good night.  Of course, she and her partner, Peter (Nick Wittman), travel to Kyev in order to discover the darkness in this haunted manor and, after signing the paperwork, discover that it is too late to turn back. The Inheritance

This Eastern European haunt is ALL THEIRS.  And this includes all the secrets that are hidden within its walls.  From jump scares and detailed talk of the supernatural, The Inheritance is a slow burn of ghostly terror that might switch off a lot of viewers, but - in its quiet moments - offers the viewers something deeper to dwell on.

Because Sasha, who is growing intrigued by the minute thanks to all the spooks and sounds and suspense surrounding her in the house, doesn’t want to give it up.  The Inheritance also includes some dark, dark deliberations from a spooky lawyer and the manor’s original caretakers, yet none of that is enough to shake her curiosity away from discovering all the reasons WHY the house was vacant and WHY it is haunted.

But the truth has consequences and they manifest with intensified paranormal occurrences.  Suddenly, she is forced to face her fears to uncover dark secrets lurking in her family history. And the deeper she delves into the secrets the home possesses, the more horrifying the answers become.
