Disappearance at Lake Elrod

Time is relative.  Or is it?

The examination of this phrase and its meaning lies at the center of Disappearance at Lake Elrod, a new psychological crime thriller from Lightbulb Film Distribution.  It's the things you don’t want to remember which are the hardest to forget, you know.  That’s what happens when a series of missing girls hits a small town in Georgia.

"this mystery takes one mother through endless nights full of shaky social terrains where promises aren’t kept"

Charlie (Robyn Lively, Twin Peaks) is convinced that there is a connection between her own missing daughter and another girl’s disappearance.  Something is happening to the girls in Elrod, Georgia and Charlie won’t stop searching for the truth. Damn the consequences.

Smartly directed by Lauren Fash (who co-wrote the screenplay with Susan Graham), wickedly edited, and full of just the right amount of white-knuckled tension to make your bones ache, Disappearance at Lake Elrod is haunting in its darkest moments and chilling in its bleakest moments.  The connections explored in the cases will take your breath away as the paranoia hits at an all-time high for the mother at the center of her daughter’s year-old disappearance.

It’s happening again for this grieving mother and she steps completely out of her comfort zone to make sure that what started with her own daughter, ends with the latest abduction.  The town might think she’s crazy and a pain in the police department’s ass, but she’s not wrong.  Just look at the evidence and she is taking her message to the masses.Disappearance at Lake Elrod

Co-starring Shanola Hampton (Shameless), Bethany Anne Lind (Ozark) and Michael Trucco (Battlestar Galactica, Midnight Mass), Disappearance at Lake Elrod takes aim at Small Town, America as one mother’s resolve to find her daughter digs deep in the dirty roots to untangle what can only be described as a parent’s worst nightmare.  The town might be turning on itself and the people who live within its borders, but what’s uncovered in the mud and filth is a disturbing revelation that will lay bare all their faults.

When alibis don’t hold up and connections are too secure to deny, Charlie has no choice but to take matters into her own hands and risk it all.  She goes to friends with her truth.  She goes to foes.  No one is to be trusted.  Not in Elrod.  Full of great performances and a chilling vibe throughout (reminiscent of Winter’s Bone), this mystery takes one mother through endless nights full of shaky social terrains where promises aren’t kept and a family’s name offers more fortitude than their actions.

Disappearance at Lake Elrod will be released on Digital Download November 3 in Australia and New Zealand.  A North America release is forthcoming.
