Revenge of the CHeerleaders

Cigarettes out and zippers up!

Tarantino’s main influence for Death Proof arrives on blu-ray thanks to Code Red and, yes, it features full frontal nudity from The Hoff, a seriously sexy dance number in a soda shop, and a lot of high school teens giving their all for the school.  Revenge of the Cheerleaders is, when it comes to B-movie cult flicks, completely on point.  Just ask the scout in the woods that gets laid by two of the cheerleaders!

The cheerleading squad at Aloha High School is on the warpath!  And they aren’t afraid to use the bodies as weapons either. Directed by Richard Lerner and full of enough raunchy action in and out of the sheets to make you want to take a shower afterwards (if only to calm down), this sex comedy is utterly unforgettable as a wild cheerleading squad goes for broke against evil land developers that want to condemn their school for its morality issues.  {googleads}

The drama begins when the school board wants to merge with a vocational school, but the girls - refusing to cooperate with even the simplest of tasks - decide to rebel against their new principal, ex-Marine Hall Walker (Norman Thomas Marshall).

What follows is a lot of suggestive banana eating, stripteases, bathroom sex, and a lunchroom spaghetti sauce with a concoction of pot, pills, and powders.  This is a no holds barred take-down of your typical school social norms and no one is left untouched - not even the lunch ladies.

Starring Cheryl “Rainbeaux” Smith (Massacre at Central High) and a young David Hasslehoff as Boner, this comedy has some absolutely incredible scenes of debauchery.  In one scene, a young man serving an elderly lady ice cream gets his buttcheeks squeezed and sucked just below the counter.  As she is demanding more nuts, he gets his own package fondled. Hell, in the film’s opening few moments, the entire team of cheerleaders - Gail, Heather, Leslie, Tishi and Sesame - take their tops off while dragging main.Revenge of the CHeerleaders

Also starring Carl Ballantine, Jerii Woods, Cheryl Smith, Helen Lang, Patrice Rohmer, Susie Elene, Revenge of the Cheerleaders is both comical and crass, giving Drive-in audiences EXACTLY what they paid for as tops and bottoms come flying off as one squad of dirty girls fights to save their high school from becoming a shopping mall.

It’s the 1970s, man.  There’s quite a bit of hair down there if you catch my drift.  Thankfully, not even those natural short and curlies try to take themselves seriously in this comedy.  And that makes it all the more enjoyable as cafeterias become scenes of orgies and locker rooms get filled with soapy suds while naked girls and boys climb all over each other.

Of the three "Cheerleader" films released in the 1970s which capitalized on the California sun and fun, Revenge of the Cheerleaders has to be the surrealist of them all.  Wild and over the top, Revenge of the Cheerleaders is pure B-movie mayhem unhinged.

The tale of the Aloha Cheerleaders' struggle against Lincoln high. High points include such events as the Aloha girls raiding a Lincoln classroom to get drugs, then putting aforementioned drugs in the cafeteria food while the state school inspectors are present. Worth the rental price just so if you ever meet David Hasselhoff, you can say "Hey, I loved your work as Boner!"  From Code Red, this title is only available through Ronin Flix.

Video:

Code Red presents this 1.78:1 framed HD remaster with a nice new sheen. The flesh on display is supple and has great detail. Textures, colors, and fabrics are natural. The results are quite good. Mostly shot in the natural light, the colors are strong. Black levels are even and edges are very fine indeed. There is a nice sheen to much of the movie, making it a totally memorable experience as this is the best the film has ever looked in its lifetime.
