Spidey Grabs Weekend Box Office Again

 Spider-Man: Far From Home

For the second week in a row Spider-Man clung to the top spot in the weekend box office for the weekend of July 12-14. Sony's Spider-Man: Far From Home added an estimated $45.3 million over the weekend to it its two-week take to bring the film's total haul to more than $274 million.

That was enough to fend off Pixar's latest entry Toy Story 4 which brought in $20.6 million to bring its four-week total to a whopping $346 million.

A couple of new films made strong debuts with Alexandre Aja's Crawl bowing to a $12 million total in its opening week while the Michael Dowse comedy Stuber starring Kumail Nanjiani finished the weekend with an $8 million take.

Rounding out the top five was Universal's Beatles-centric romantic comedy Yesterday with a total of just over $6.7 million which was enough to wrest the number five slot for Disney's Aladdin live-action remake which added another $5.8 million to its eight week total that now tops $331 million.

Dropping three slots to come in at seven is the horror film Annabelle Comes Home which beat out filmmaker Ari Aster's folk horror film Midsummer which finished the weekend with a $3.6 million take.

Rounding out the top ten weekend box office slots were Universal's animated comedy sequel The Secret Life of Pets 2 which fell two spots and Sony's Men in Black International which added another $2.2 million to bring its five-week total to a disappointing $76.4 million.
