What if your life depended on a stranger?
That's the question posed by director Hany Abu-Assad in his new film, The Mountain Between Us.
Naturally, images of 1993’s Alive, about the rugby team stranded in the Andes mountains and forced to eat one another to survive come to mind by any movie involving a plane crash in the snow-covered mountains. Fortunately, this isn’t that kind of movie. Been there done that.
This one's about a couple of strangers who find themselves alone and must rely on their own wits in order to survive.

It appears that this one will be more about human sentiment and the resourcefulness needed to overcome tragedy rather than the actual event that brought these two characters together. At least that's what we expect from a cast headed by such talent.
